Students came back to Bryn Mawr after Winter Break to find Erdman ‘s temporary front doors replaced by the new, wooden doors long promised. Finishing touches on the doors were completed last week, according to Amber Carmo ’01, one of the presidents of Erdman. The doors are part of a larger project to create separate outside entrances to the dining hall in Erdman and to its rooms, increasing the safety of residents there. There will also be an inside entrance for residents to get from their rooms to the dining hall without having to go outside. On Thursday, Jan. 20, Erdman residents met with Facilities Services to discuss the new floor plan. Carmo said that at the meeting, students were told that the project is “much farther ahead of schedule than expected: it should be all finished by Spring Break.” Carmo said that with the addition of the new entrances, Erdman’s front backsmoker room will be smaller, but residents don’t mind because it will be refurbished.
