HAVERFORD (Jan. 29) - Junior guard Alec Evans tied a career-high with 13 points to lead a balanced scoring attack, but Haverford fell in its Centennial Conference game with visiting Dickinson.
Seniors Mukul Kanabar (11 points), Tim Mulvaney (11) and Mark Maggiotto (10) and freshman Cam Scribner (10) each reached double figures, as the Fords (3-14, 1-5) managed to get within five, 48-43, midway through the second half.
Sophomore Matt Shaffer and freshman Jonathan Schwadron (nine rebounds) each scored 15 points to lead the Red Devils (8-9, 4-3), who notched a 33-19 rebounding margin.

Haverford (1-7) could not muster a win in its fourth-place match with Vassar.
Smith defeated Wellesley, 5-4, in a battle on undefeated teams, but later fell to Wellesley’s Saturday victim, Mount Holyoke, by an identical margin. Two morning matches were canceled to allow the visiting teams to leave before Sunday’s winter storm arrived, and the three one-loss teams were declared tri-champions of the first championship.
