Interview by Amanda Gill
Hometown: Bethlehem, PA
Major: Biology
What do you do at Bryn Mawr besides study? Any extracurricular activities?
I’m a peer mentor and I volunteer in Philadelphia with Project Sunshine. It’s not affiliated with Bryn Mawr, but it’s a group of people who go to children’s hospitals and do arts and crafts. I’m on the Health Center Advisory Committee. I T.A. for introductory biology and microbiology.
What are you looking forward to most after college/do you have anything lined up?
Hopefully I’ll go to medical school–I’m really excited about that.
Favorite dorm building: Rhodes
What’s your favorite class you’ve ever taken here?
This is hard. I guess it was Organismal Biology; it was really fun to learn more about anatomy and physiology.
After four years, how do you feel about Bryn Mawr’s “social situation” (all women)?
I still love it. I loved it to begin with–I was a transfer, so I knew what I was in for.
Biggest pet peeve: People chewing loudly in class.
If you could have a pet in your dorm what would you get and why?
I would get a pug, because I really love pugs. That’s a really stupid answer.
Longest work night: I’ve never pulled an all-nighter, I always cut myself off at 3:00 a.m., but we’ll see how that goes now that I’m writing my thesis.
Love to hate/Hate to love: I really hate that I love “Jersey Shore.”
Secret talent: I don’t know if you have seen the show “Zoom” that used to be on PBS. It was like a sketch show with ten- to 12-year-old kids, and it taught you how to do arts and crafts. Well, I can speak “Ubbi Dubbi”. You basically put a “buh” between every syllable. So my name would be “Rubbabebbacubba”.
