This Thursday February 22 at 4 pm in Carpenter Library room 21, there will be a lecture and reception celebrating the recent acquisition of a 15th century manuscript penned by female scribes. The lecture, which promises to offer important insights about the role of women in the high middle ages, will be delivered by Bert Roest of the University of Groningen. The lecture, The Perfect Life for Women: The Recourse to Jerome in the Spiritual Edification of Female Religious in Fifteenth-Century Italy will be followed by a reception in the Rare Book room in Canaday library, where the manuscript is on display.
